Our Company

pieces of a jigsaw being pulled apart - Company

From only three UK depots and 270 machines in 2002, the company has expanded to 30 locations in the UK and six in the Middle East. We have a fleet of more than 7,000 powered access machines and provide training for more than 25,000 people each year. We have built a strong reputation in the market and have been involved in high profile projects such as at the Olympics London 2012, Goodwood Festival of Speed and on landmarks such as London Bridge and the O2 Arena.

David Shipman and Geoff Gibson bought into the existing company in May 2002, with Nick Selley joining the Board during 2003. Our first acquisition Alan Drew in the UK came in 2006 and since then we have seen steady growth organically and acquisitive. Significant achievements are listed below:

RoSPA Occuptaton Health and Safety Awards – Gold. We pride ourselves for being at the forefront of health and safety and technical innovation in the working at height sector. For example in 2011 we developed and launched two major products to increase safety throughout the company. SanctuaryZone prevents a machine operator from being crushed against an obstacle, and SmartZone prevents the unauthorised use of a powered access machine.

We have gained external recognition for our commitment to health and safety and technical innovation through gaining numerous industry awards and accreditations.

As well as our growth in the UK, we are also expanding our overseas operations by making substantial investments in our Access Rental Gulf business. During 2016 Access Rental Gulf opened new depots in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, together with the relocation of the company’s first Saudi depot to much larger premises.
