Hampshire Plant and Access joined the AFI family in 2015 offering premier plant and powered access equipment for hire, as part of our actions to address covid-19 this regional business has been integrated into AFI-Uplift.

Facelift

Founded in 1985, Facelift quickly gained a reputation for leadership. From the beginning, Facelift saw the advantages that powered access technology had over traditional scaffolding and have strived to be innovators ever since. In July 2019, Facelift became part of the AFI group of companies, helping us to increase our fleet to over 7,500 machines. Facelift has one of the most extensive ranges of powered access platforms available for hire in the UK, including the hire of underbridge units, self-drive truck mounted platforms up to 29 metres and as Operated HGV up to 61 metres.

Rapid Platforms

Based near Stansted Airport, Rapid Platforms joined AFI in 2016. Established in 1982, Rapid Platforms are renowned for providing a high quality service and have a wealth of experience within the powered access and hoists area. The Rapid Platforms hire fleet covers all categories of MEWPs and a range of GEDA hoists. Our trained and experienced service engineers maintain our machines to the highest standards. In addition to hire, Rapid Platforms also provide access equipment sales, servicing and training.

UTN Training

Established in 1996, UTN Training has a long history of providing health, safety and skills training for the construction industry. We are a leading provider of SQA accredited courses for those working in New Roads or Street Works (NRSWA) environments. We also offer training courses accredited by CITB SSSTS and SMSTS, IOSH and NEBOSH. Access Rental Gulf (ARG)

AFI has a substantial presence in the Middle East where our Access Rental Gulf (ARG) business is making a significant contribution to EBITDA.

ARG was established in 2008 in two locations – Jubail in Saudi Arabia and Dubai in the UAE. Following a recent programme of investment and expansion, ARG has now also established a presence in Bahrain, Qatar and a second depot in Saudi Arabia.

Qatar is a major market in the Gulf Cooperation Council, behind Saudi and UAE, so it was a logical step for ARG to have a presence there. The new Qatar base will enable ARG to capitalise on the increased construction spend in Qatar as the State increases its infrastructure in advance of the 2022 World Cup.

ARG has one of the most experienced teams in the Middle East, offering machine rental, sales, and working at height training.
